Course Description

Provides skills for working in life sciences industry with emphasis on manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, biologics, and medical devices. Introduces validation, quality control, and manufacturing process. Focuses on testing, systems evaluations, FDA compliance, and reporting.

Expectations for Student Effort 

For each hour of lecture equivalent, students should expect to have a minimum of two hours of work outside of class.

There will be weekly writing assignment on a topic covered in lectures and/or reading assignments. You will be able to revise one of the weekly writing assignment based on instructor feedback. The final report will FDA compliance plan and be graded according the rubric provided. You can revise the final report based on instructor feedback if you submit a draft by the specified deadline.

Attendance and Make-Up Policy 

Students should make all reasonable efforts to attend all class meetings. However, in the event a student is unable to attend a class, it is the responsibility of the student to inform the instructor as soon as possible, explain the reason for the absence (and provide documentation, if appropriate), and make up class work missed within a reasonable amount of time, if allowed. Missing class meetings may result in reducing the the class participation grade.
