Course Description
The purpose of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in Independent study conducted under the jurisdiction of an approving faculty member. This work may include independent research studies in technical or specialized problems; selection and analysis of specified readings; development of a creative project; or field experiences.

Expectations for Student Effort
For each credit hour, students are expected to complete 3 hours of research work under the supervision of their mentor or the mentor's designee (e.g., a graduate student). Some weeks will have a higher workload due to the nature of assignments. Please develop a schedule with your mentor and be sure to ask if you have questions.
